Match report by Ladies' 2nd team Captain, Nicole Hobson
Our Ladies 2nd team ventured out for our first match of the season, making up for a rained-off match from the previous week.
The pairings for the evening were:
Fran and Jennie
Fiona and Imogen
Naomi and Nicole
The matches were fantastic, showcasing the team's determination and skill. Despite the final scores not reflecting our efforts, the evening was filled with competitive and enjoyable tennis.
Fran and Jennie had the opposition running all over the court, returning even the trickiest of shots. Their synergy and persistence paid off as they secured our only win of the night.

Naomi, in only her second match, played like a seasoned professional. She fought through numerous deuces and a tense tiebreak, which unfortunately didn't go our way.
Fiona and Imogen displayed great teamwork, with Fiona's formidable slice shots and Imogen's deft dropshots keeping the competition on their toes. Their final set also culminated in a nail-biting tiebreak.
Our opposition were lovely ladies, providing snacks that kept us fuelled through the long sets. A special thanks goes to Jennie for her delicious homemade biscuits.
Despite the final scores, the spirit of the evening was high, we all had great fun.
Looking forward to our next game and continuing to build on our team spirit…
Also, a huge thank you to Jennie Palmer who is going to take over running the team, and Wendy for being vice-captain, when I leave for Yorkshire later in the year.
